This project focused on the desilting and vegetation clearance of a village pond and its associated inlet and outlet structures to restore the ponds’ aesthetic appeal and improve its function.
Specialist equipment, including our Truxor Amphibious Excavator and a 6t LR Excavator, was used for ease of access, precise vegetation removal and minimal impact on the surrounding landscape, minimising time required on site and reducing costs for our client
The pond which situated within a new housing development site required removal of 80% of reeds which were negatively impacting ecological function and the and its appearance. Due to the proximity of many residents Salix worked with the client to minimise disruption and a newsletter provided details of the work schedule and provide clarity to interested parties. Turf repairs around the pond were made to leave the site in pristine condition upon completion.
Salix completed the restoration with minimal inconvenience to residents, who praised our team and gave lots of positive feedback.
